All of my steel jewelry is protected with multiple coats of microcrystalline wax. The best thing for steel jewelry is to be worn and handled. Keep dry. If it does get wet, dry off immediately and handle. Your natural body oils are a great protector.  I am happy to refinish as needed, cost varying based on circumstances and complexity of piece.
