Paper Marbling - February 9

With Artist Meg Erke

Use ink and water to create a series of decorative papers for use in future collages, bookbinding projects, or cards. This ancient Japanese technique, called Suminagashi, creates soft, organic patterns on paper. The process is calm, meditative, and easy to learn.

Material Exploration - February 16

Unlock new possibilities in form and texture through a series of creative exercises. In this workshop we’ll play with materials in various ways to understand how they can be manipulated to move beyond the expected. We’ll move from flat to dimensional, smooth to textured.

 

Watercolor and Wonder -February 23

With Artist Meg Erke

Lean into your curiosity with this exploratory-based approach to watercolor. You’ll learn a variety of techniques in this playful, easy-going session to create bold, colorful papers for use in future collages, wall art, bookbinding projects, gift tags, or cards.

Stitching On/To Paper- March 2 

With Artist Heather Nuber 

Attach and embellish works on paper with textile techniques. Learn differences between hand and machine stitches, needle sizes and varieties, and take from embroidery and quilting traditions to create contemporary works.

 

Contemporary Collage -March 9 or March 16

We will work with decorative papers, tag and fibers to learn about composition, layers, working with adhesive and non-adhesive joining techniques. You'll leave with a finished, framable work of art.
